Summer Academy: June 7 - July 2

Have you heard about Summer Academy at your school site? We have an exciting opportunity for students to extend the learning experience over a four-week period between June 7 - July 2, 2021.

Draft LCAP Review Meeting

You spoke, we listened. We continue to receive stakeholder feedback and want to get a date on stakeholders' calendars to review the DRAFT Local Control Accountability Plan before it goes to public hearing on June 8 and final adoption on June 22.

In-Person Local Control Accountability Plan Meeting: May 20

In an effort to reach all stakeholders, MPUSD is hosting an in-person Local Control Accountability Plan engagement meeting on Thursday, May 20 at Seaside High School to continue gathering input to inform its planning efforts and prioritize district funding on programs and services for students.

Districtwide Town Hall: May 19

As we head toward the end of the school year, MPUSD will host the last monthly Town Hall meeting to discuss Summer Academies and what the 2021-2022 school year will look like. We hope you can join us for a very brief presentation followed by plenty of time for questions and answers.

Your Input Matters

Engagement of students, parents, staff and community members is important to MPUSD. We want to hear how our schools, and the district, are doing to involve and engage you in educating students. Your input is valuable as we align our goals and financial resources in our Local Control Accountability Plan and new Extended Learning Opportunities Grant Plan.

MPUSD Makes Move to Keep 6th Grade at Elementary Level Beginning in 2021-22

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, our Board of Education discussed and approved the decision making timeline for the reconfiguration and consolidation of MPUSD schools. 




You may recall last school year the district convened a Vision 2025+ Task Force and engaged stakeholders in multiple community engagement meetings and surveys about the future of our schools. One of the key focus areas was whether or not to maintain 6th grade at the elementary school level.

Community Meetings: Reconfiguration & Consolidation of Schools

MPUSD continues its path toward implementing a transitional kindergarten - grade 6 model in the 2021-22 school year, as well as TK - Grade 8 models, attendance boundaries, and school consolidations in 2022-23. The district held virtual staff meetings with various schools at the end of January and early February, and hosted stakeholder engagement in community meetings in February. UPDATE: Free Food for Families Locations

Due to traffic congestion at Seaside High, our partners at All in Monterey and The Food Bank of Monterey County, the Free Food for Families program has changed slightly. Mondays will be at Seaside High and Wednesdays will be at Monterey Peninsula College. See updated flyer.
